Meet The Staff
Cristina Young, of C Design in Charleston, SC, is our superior in house graphic artist; a true artist (a painter and illustrator) herself, she is responsible for our book cover designs, picture book interior designs and digital set ups, and meeting many of our other changing needs. Look for her original artwork in some of our upcoming new children's books as well as in some of our store products!
Sarah Hays, of YuDu Concierge Services, is literally my right hand! We could not have achieved the growth of our company in such a short amount of time without her able assistance. Her attention to detail and exemplary professionalism upholds all our highest ideals and she represents our company beautifully whenever she steps out from "behind the scenes." I'd trust her with anything! Her staff is awesome and takes care of our needs promptly and accurately, always.
Sarah Caiafa is our social networking guru. Not only does she handle the company's social networking needs in general, but she also serves as a personal marketing mentor to each of our authors, giving them the tools, materials, advice, and knowledge they need to build their brand and promote their titles.
Sarah Cottingham and Sarah Corsey, our "other" Sarah's (can you believe we have three?!) are also extraordinarily helpful in publicity and marketing needs in general as well as being wonderful general assistants. The amount of correspondence they wade through in order to make my life easier and keep us reasonably caught up is essential for us all. They routinely volunteer to the bearers of bad news, to jump in and do jobs that aren't on their usual lists, and to join us all in the fray with good attitudes whenever we need it.
Jessica Smith is my favorite new editor! That woman doesn't miss a thing! She is the most thorough, helpful, and insightful editor I've ever worked with, and a delightful person to partner with on any project.
Linda McHugh and Tina Hutchinson, of Bean Counters Bookkeeping, keep us straight on all our accounting needs and are integral to our success on the bottom line! Their understanding and appreciation of the mission of our company, as well as our financial needs and goals is greatly appreciated. All our assets are literally entrusted to them!
The company responsible for designing our website is Poieo Design and Dave Heffron, a talented partner of this outstanding company, is responsible for the overall look and theme of The Fig & The Vine.
Neal Kinard, of Hank Productions is responsible for all audio and video projects. I have worked with Neal and the excellent team at Hank Productions for almost a decade now, and consider it a privilege to have his company produce all our Media-related materials.
Margaret Herndon is our store buyer and manager, as well as the creator of many awesome products herself. We hope to really build up our online store in the future and are even contemplating retail locations. Building on decades of retail, decorating, and entertaining experience, she is the reason there will always be something new and innovative in the store, while staying true to our old timey, down to earth values! She is an expert "stager" and will be contributing articles related to creating innovative displays, both for retail businesses and for home.
Shane Clack is our intern - he will be working on many different aspects of our company's enterprises and we're so excited to have such a fine young man joining our team.
Other members of the team include long time freelance colleagues who help us to produce and promote our products and authors and a superior staff of editors and writers whom we outsource to depending on our needs and all of whom have impeccable reputations in the field. P-s-s-s-s-s-t! We also have a top notch former member of a large, international publishing house on board! But we'll keep him a secret!
Our AUTHORS and ILLUSTRATORS can be found on their own pages, linked under the "Meet the Staff" tab at the top of the site. Be sure to check them out, especially their fun F & V bios.
I (Lily Herndon Weaks) am President of The Fig & The Vine as well as being a published author, myself. Look for my bio on the author page.
