Welcome to Wadamaco Farms!
That’s pronounced “Wah-dah-mah-coe” which is Gullah (of a sort) and roughly means “the water’s cold.” Our northern boundary, a South Carolina river, is indeed VERY cold, as it’s quite close to its sources, a variety of springs, creeks and even a swamp.
I definitely see the farm as a divine gift, given to us for a divine purpose – several, actually. You can read our story in my upcoming book Parables from a Carolina Farm. I’ve always written articles and even two books from there, but now, thanks to Verizon wireless and a USB connection, my husband and I can run our respective businesses there, too, even in the middle of those remote 180 some odd acres out in the boon docks! Bliss!
Everyone who visits the farm is refreshed and encouraged by this wild, beautiful place – we hope you are, too.
