Charleston, SC (OPENPRESS) - - Tampa’s own Galina Fouks Abele kicks off her upcoming national book and art showcase tour this Friday at Barnes & Noble, Carrollwood, 11802 N. Dale Mabry Highway, at a very special book signing for her children’s picture book Maurice’s Daughter. “We were so thrilled when B&N Community Relations Director Nan Barbara responded so positively to this special children’s book about healing and joy after bereavement!” says Lily Herndon Weaks, President of The Fig & The Vine Publishing.

We are very proud to have been issued an invitation from the Capital BookFest to be guest speakers at this successful event's debut in Charleston, one of three new cities serving as host venues. Director Kwame Alexander, long esteemed as a poet, writer, and publisher in the literary world, utilizes Capital BookFest events to raise awareness of the importance of literacy in the community and also to CELEBRATE the world of writing, publishing, and the literary arts.

Terry Ward Tucker, F&V author of the award winning Young Adult Historical Fiction book Moonlight and Mill Whistles, was featured in a half hour segment on June 17th highlighting all her titles and her work in general. Author MaryAnn Dunham just can’t seem to stop being creative - despite having been retired from her teaching career for some years. The stories from The Church Mice Series, given to her in bursts of inspiration, seem to write themselves, and often keep her up at night. Each tale features not only the setting of a historic church, with charming details that the reader can recognize when visiting the place in question, but also highlights a life lesson that can be applied to and learned from a Bible verse, and each tale ends with a brief history of the church in the tale.
